Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and result-driven General Manager – Sales to lead the sales operations for Layer Chicks across Andhra Pradesh while driving business growth for Poultry Feed and Poultry Vaccines. The role involves developing regional sales strategies, expanding dealer and distributor networks, strengthening customer relationships, and achieving business targets.

The ideal candidate should possess strong commercial acumen, in-depth knowledge of the poultry industry, and a well-established network within the Andhra Pradesh poultry market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for Layer Chicks.
  • Drive sales growth of Poultry Feed and Poultry Vaccines through cross-selling.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
  • Develop territory-wise sales plans to maximize market penetration.
  • Ensure profitable and sustainable business growth.

Customer & Channel Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with layer farmers, commercial poultry farms, dealers, distributors, hatcheries, and institutional customers.
  • Appoint, develop, and manage dealer/distributor networks across Andhra Pradesh.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, dealer meetings, and product awareness programs.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely support and issue resolution.

Sales Planning & Market Intelligence

  • Prepare sales forecasts, business plans, and monitor target achievement.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
  • Analyze regional performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely collections and effective receivables management.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the regional sales team.
  • Set performance KPIs and conduct regular sales reviews.
  • Build a high-performance, result-oriented sales culture.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Hatchery, Feed Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Technical Services, Finance, and Customer Support teams.
  • Ensure timely product availability and deliveries.
  • Resolve operational issues affecting customer satisfaction.

Reporting & MIS

  • Submit Daily, Weekly, and Monthly sales reports.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer databases, and sales pipeline reports.
  • Present regional business performance to senior management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of Layer Chick sales targets.
  • Growth in Poultry Feed and Vaccine sales.
  • Revenue, profitability, and market share growth.
  • New customer acquisition.
  • Dealer/distributor network expansion.
  • Collection efficiency and receivables management.
  • Customer retention and repeat business.
  • Team productivity and target achievement.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Poultry Science, Animal Husbandry, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    OR
  • MBA from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • 12–18 years of sales experience in the Poultry Industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a regional sales leadership role.
  • Proven experience in Layer Chick sales is mandatory.
  • Experience in Poultry Feed and Poultry Vaccine sales is highly preferred.
  • Strong network within the Andhra Pradesh poultry industry.
  • The salary for this position is up to ₹30 LPA. However, proficiency in the Telugu language is mandatory, as the candidate will be handling the Andhra Pradesh region.
